yogananta

Dragon Rising is home of the Yogananta training program, designed to provide students and teachers with the resources and experience they need for a life-long, dynamic core practice.

yogananta 200

The Yogananta program begins as a registered yoga school at the 200 hour level, as certified by Yoga Alliance and their umbrella requirements for the curriculum. Yoga Alliance certification may be of importance to those attending the training if they intend to teach. It is not the focus of the course however, and we feel the best resource for strong teaching creativity is the strongest personal practice. This is our primary concern at the 200 hour level.

The requirements of Yoga Alliance are far surpassed at the 200 hour level within the Yogananta program. Emphasis is placed on body mechanics, joint structure and health, all tied together with breath awareness. At the 200 hour level, the Yogananta curriculum may seem advanced, but it is presented in a way that is easily integrated into practice through its inherent simplicity in movement.

yogananta 500

We are currently beginning development of a frequently requested 500 hour program that will also be certified by Yoga Alliance at their 500 hour level. The 500 hour program is essentially a 300 hour additional studies extension of the 200 hour foundation.Where the 200 hour program supports a very strong foundation for understanding and building a personal practice, the 500 hour program will extend that understanding to apply the practice to personal healing.

The primary focus of the 500 hour advanced training will be the therapeutic application of the practice in helping ourselves and others find balance. This is a complex, advanced study of body scanning, both physically and energetically, and of the subtle permutations of advanced sequencing and hands-on applications required to offer a profound healing base. It is a deepening of our perception in understanding our personal patterns and being able to reflect the same in others. This becomes an incredible way to build a personal practice that best unwinds those personal patterns while strengthening and lengthening the body. For practitioners working with others in private or personal yoga/healing sessions, this is the most crucial work and understanding.

The curriculum provides an extensive study of advanced sequencing, including the therapeutic application of asymmetrical ‘dragon’ or ‘reflective’ sequences designed to provide the deepest possible balancing of the significant structural and energetic relationships in the body. For those who teach public classes, this study of sequencing becomes a powerful tool for understanding and exploring the primal dance of asana as a metaphor for moving in the world.
